REVIEW: AH HOE MEE POK - WHICH AH HOE DO YOU LIKE?

Situated along Tanjong Katong Road amongst the famous eateries lies Ah Hoe Mee Pok. Selling the usual noodle fares you can find in Hawker Centers, but what's so special about Ah Hoe Mee Pok? I remember Ah Hoe Mee Pok for their Japanese influence but this pales in comparison and does not sell the same.

This was an invited tasting and we were served their signature crayfish noodles, dry bee hoon, fish ball soup, handmade deep-fried tofu, braised fish maw, fried prawn balls, wonton soup, fish dumpling soup, and deep fried wonton.

The crayfish was fresh and easily pulled apart from the shell, however, it could be more well-cooked. Known for it's sweet and tender flesh, this wasn't very succulent.
The mee pok was not too bad with it's springy and al dente texture. Pretty well-cooked.
Their sides are not too bad. The prawn balls are a crowd favorite with its crunchy texture.
Overall, a comforting and hearty meal. We went on a weekend and the restaurant was almost empty too. :( I went all the way to Clementi for the original stall but sad to say I won't return to this. :X
