REVIEW: Good japanese fusion food in Singapore: Bao Makers - Salmon Mentaiko Bao, Chili Crab πŸ¦€ Bao, Japanese Food and more~

Bao Makers started in 2015 and they are the pioneer in introducing international and local flavors with traditional baos. They are located at an old shophouse at Jiak Chuan Rd. One can recognize them with the beautiful turquoise Peranakan floral tiles decorating the exterior of the stall front. Not only they have these alfresco seating, their indoor seating is quite spacious too but the lighting is too dark.
They are not only famous for their baos, but they also serve up some pretty amazing Japanese fare.
I was there for a tasting session for their CNY lohei yusheng, but I shall only review the mains, desserts, and drinks that I have tried.

Salmon Mentaiko Roll 🍣
Tamago, cucumber, and crabstick wrapped in Japanese rice. Where's the seared salmon? This was topped in mentaiko fish roe sauce. I love how creamy the mentaiko sauce is though! Love how the fish roe gave an added texture to this dish too!

Chicken Volcano πŸŒ‹
Deep-fried chicken cubes topped with mozzarella cheese fish roe, and garlic sauce. Soo cheesy and nice! The chicken cubes were so tender too.

Really love the Beef πŸ₯© Sando! The bread is toasted well and fluffy with a slab of marbled meat fried in panko crumbs in between. Very tender and so good!!!

Not sure if I were ever given a choice to choose between a cheeseburger and spring roll but I will choose this. LOL, This Cheese Burger πŸ” Spring Roll is quite an innovative dish with the crispy pastry encasing the beef and cheese.

The Baos at Bao Makers is so soft and fluffy! The tasting platter consists of eight flavors with pickled radish aside. IMO good for people who want to try all their flavors!
Chilli Crab πŸ¦€ Bao
Salted Egg Chicken πŸ” Bao
Salmon 🍣 Mentaiko Bao
Belly of Pork πŸ– Bao
Mala Beef πŸ₯© Bao
Blackened Chicken πŸ“ Bao
Truffle Mushroom πŸ„ Bao
Veggie πŸ₯— Bao

Their Singapore Latte Peng was innovative with house-made espresso coffee jelly while the Yuzu Coconut was a refreshing drink to have while feasting.

The Black Magic Brownie had a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream perched on top. What I like about this is that the brownie was warm and gooey inside. recommended to order this!
The Pumpkin Burnt Caramel also had the same vanilla bean ice cream on top with toast below infused with pumpkin mousse seemingly coated with burnt caramel and sprinkled with corn flakes.
