Sushi Tei Unveils Blossoms of Joy Spring Menu, with Camellia Buri and Satsuma Wagyu Beef as Highlights

Springtime in Japan always promises such picturesque sights, with the roads and streets being blanketed by cherry blossoms. Inspired by this lovely season, Sushi Tei is launching a spring menu, bringing a taste of Japan right to you! Made with fresh produce, the artfully plated seasonal dishes invite the whole family to dig in and indulge.

Begin with an exquisite offering — the Truffle Foie Gras Chawanmushi (S$12.80). Pan-fried foie gras is encased within the wobbly egg custard. Then, it is drizzled with truffle oil, whose aroma wafts through the air.

The Sashimi Moriawase "Goto" 4 Kinds (S$29.80) brims with camellia buri, salmon, sweet shrimp, and swordfish. Camellia buri is a farm-raised fish that comes from Kamigoto Island, Nagasaki. The Japanese amberjack is fed a diet that is enriched with camellia oil. This oil is a good source of oleic acid, which helps to lower cholesterol and promote skin repair.

Bara Chirashi Tower

Truffle Satsuma Wagyu Steak Foie Gras

Get ready your camera for the arrival of the Bara Chirashi Tower (S$15.80), whose excellent presentation is Instagram worthy. The classic chirashi don takes on the form of a tower — it is stacked with avocado, sweet shrimp, and vinegared sushi rice. The treasure of camellia buri, along with an assortment of sashimi, is hidden within this tower as well!

Another showstopping dish is the Satsuma Wagyu Steak Foie Gras (S$33.80). Satsuma Wagyu is produced by Mizusako Farm, one of the largest black cattle breeding farms in Japan. The cattle are fed a special diet of roasted soybeans, which give the meat an exceptional flavor profile and tenderness. This beef is accompanied by a shooter glass of truffle steak sauce.

Kaisen Blossom Roll

Edamame Cream Puff

The indulgence continues with the White Curry Omurice (S$15.80). A tomato omelet drapes the fried rice, which is set in a pool of Hokkaido-style white curry. Chunks of carrots lend a delightful sweetness to the fried rice. Slices of fried Kagoshima pork belly are then added for a hearty finish. With one bite of the Kaisen Blossom Roll (S$14.80), you will taste different layers of flavors. This crunchy fried salmon sushi roll is topped with an assortment of seafood including camellia buri as well as briny caviar and cod roe mayonnaise.

Finally, cap off the meal with the Edamame Cream Puff (S$7.80). This sweet-savory dessert is air-flown directly from Japan. The delicate and airy puffs are filled with luscious cream that boasts bits of edamame beans!
