Ichiban Boshi & Ichiban Sushi Launches Its First-ever Meat-free Series, with Over 10 New Dishes from $6.90

Believing in the importance of food sustainability, Ichiban Boshi is launching its first-ever meat-free series, which comprises over 10 dishes across sushi, donburi, appetizer, and mains categories affordably priced starting from $6.90. Also using meat-free ingredients from Quorn, whose wide-ranging meat-free products allow the chefs of Ichiban Boshi & Ichiban Sushi to experiment and come up with dishes that excite the palate.  

Tanuki Avocado Roll (S$12.90)

Begin with the Tanuki Avocado Roll (S$12.90). Boasting a gorgeous palette of red, green, and orange, it is made with superfood avocado, refreshing cucumber, crunchy carrot, and fried potato. It is then topped with sliced cherry tomato and salted kelp. Harmonizing the ingredients are the sweet sauce and yuzu orange sauce. Equally beautiful is the Irodori Tomato Roll (S$11.90), which sees tomato and cucumber topped on a roll of sushi rice. Meat-free fish skin, of an enticing orange hue, is encased in the rice. The carrot and sweet sauces add a lovely note.

Yasai Chirashi Don (S$14.90)

For something more substantial, go with the Yasai Chirashi Don (S$14.90).  This hearty and superbly nourishing bowl brims with a medley of tofu, avocado, cucumber, green soybean, cherry tomato, Japanese pickles, tempura flakes, salted kelp, and sushi rice. Marrying the ingredients together is the sweet sauce and garlic chili oil. 

Ishiyaki Mapo Tofu (S$11.90)

Paying tribute to the iconic Sichuan dish is the Ishiyaki Mapo Tofu (S$11.90)

Meat-free minced chicken and chunks of tofu are served in a hot stone, with luscious mapo sauce coating all the ingredients. In the mood for a mini hotpot? 

Tofu & Gyoza Nabe (S$12.90)

The Tofu & Gyoza Nabe (S$12.90) comes with meat-free gyoza, beancurd skin, tofu, assorted mushrooms, and vegetables as well as Japanese vermicelli. Cook the ingredients in the umami-packed kelp soup, then dip them in the accompanying garlic chili citrus sauce. 

Hotplate Unagi Tofu (S$15.90)

Arriving sizzling hot on your table is the Hotplate Unagi Tofu (S$15.90). Boasting the familiar smoky hint and firm texture, the meat-free BBQ eel as well as the accompanying fried tofu is glazed with a lip-smacking teriyaki sauce.

Nugget Tempura (S$9.90)

Kick your indulgence up a notch with sides. The meat-free Nugget Tempura (S$9.90) is coated with a salted kelp tempura batter which is then deep-fried to golden perfection and drizzled with sweet sauce. 

Cheesy Mushroom (S$8.90)

Promising an addictive savory bite, the Cheesy Mushroom (S$8.90) sees shiitake mushroom deep-fried with cheese and mayonnaise to crispy perfection, then topped with sweet sauce and tonkatsu sauce. 

Tori Karaage with Pink Tartar (S$7.90)

With the same taste and texture as its meat counterpart, the Tori Karaage with Pink Tartar (S$7.90) is crispy and tender. The meat-free karaage is served with Japanese pickle tartar sauce. 

Mala Fish Skin (S$6.90)

Finally, there is the Mala Fish Skin (S$6.90) — the meat-free fish skin is dusted generously with mala powder and accompanied with mayonnaise. 

The seasonal menu will be available for dine-in and takeaway now available until 8 November 2021.
