RECIPE: Braised Yee Mee 焖伊面

I have always loved noodles since young and sometimes I can have them for all 3 meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are many different types of noodles and ways of preparation available to your likings. I think you can find Chinese noodles easily accessible in all supermarkets. The Yee Mee is the one fried to crispy brown. Since it is fried, this noodle creates a nice aroma and flavorful taste when cook.

The noodles are covered in a sauce and flavored with stock. It's my favorite when served with prawns and vegetables. The texture of yee mee is soft and chewy.

Ingredients:
1/2 block Yee Mee
5 pcs Prawn Meat
Some vegetables
1 clove Garlic; minced
1 Tbsp. Oyster Sauce
1 Tsp. Dark Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp. Light Soy Sauce
1 cup Chicken Stock
Salt and pepper to taste

Method:
1) Cook the noodles according to what's stated on the packaging.

2) Heat up 2 tbsp of oil in a wok on high heat. Stir in garlic and fry till fragrant.

3) Mix in chicken stock and all the seasonings. Bring to a boil.

4) Cooked yee mee should be added at this point. Cook until the gravy has thickened. Add the vegetables and prawns when the noodle is almost done.

5) Season to taste when the noodle has reached the desired softness.
