REVIEW: Good Thai food in Singapore: KIN KAO YOUNG AT 313 AND DOWNTOWN EAST - Thai street food concept by Suki Group

Kin Kao Young basically means "Have you eaten?". This new thai street food concept by Suki Group serves up a wide spread of authentic popular Thai dishes. Their Signature celebrity pork leg and pork bone soup puzzled us initially with it named Mario's. Turns out this dish was made from the original recipe by Noklae Sukothai Noodles, a small business in Chiang Mai frequented by many Thai celebrities. Mario must be one of the more famous celebrities to have a dish named after him.

We had the following:

1️⃣ Tom Yum seafood soup

Tom Yum soup is a ubiquitous dish seen in Thai restaurants. The Tom Yum Seafood is a must-eat if you go to the Thailand restaurant. This was well-balanced of sour with a good spicy kick. very appetizing and goes well with their white rice. They have quite a few ingredients here like prawns, squid, enoki mushrooms, etc.

2️⃣ Mario's Celebrity Pork Leg rice

Pork leg stew on rice, or kao ka moo, is the quintessential Thai street food. You can find this all over the streets of Thailand and in any food court. The ones here are nicely braised with succulent meat. This was also good to have with rice!

3️⃣ Charcoal Grilled Pork Belly

Very amazing tender texture with a nice bite. You would need more than 1! Remember to dip in the dipping sauce provided.

4️⃣ Thai Crispy Squid

Fried to golden perfection. Squid can be a Lil chewy.

5️⃣ Mango Salad

Nice refreshing and zingy salad!

They have a range of coconut shakes, and also classics like Mango Sticky Rice and coconut ice cream. If you're a fan of durian, ya'll have it with the ice cream and mango sticky rice too. But unfortunately, I am not. 😂 I really enjoyed the ice cream but 2 scoops seem like a huge portion.
