Kuriya Japanese Market Launches Its First-ever Fruit Sushi Offerings for Spring - Ichiban Bento will dole out two new spring specials as well

Spring is upon us — this April, celebrate the harvests with Kuriya Japanese Market and Ichiban Bento! Kuriya Japanese Market’s Spring Matsuri fair will be held from 1 April to 31 May 2022. The highlight is its first-ever Fru-shi series, showcasing creative and healthy sushi surprises enhanced with fruits. These offerings will be a hit amongst adults and kids!

Fruity Yuzu Inari ($4.80)

Be delighted by the colors of the Fruity Yuzu Inari ($4.80). Promising an explosion of flavors, the open-faced sweet beancurd pouches are stuffed with avocado, grape, shrimp roe, and yuzu. Next is the Fruity Hako Sushi ($5.80). The blocks of pressed sweet sushi come topped with salmon, grape, black flying fish roe, and yuzu. Each piece is served with an adorable cheese cracker, whose green hue is owed to the use of avocado. 

Fruit Cup Sushi ($5.80)

For the Fruit Cup Sushi ($5.80), the round-shaped rice is decorated with cubes of Japanese sea bream, salmon, shrimp roe, pickles, and cucumber. The ingredients are set atop a fanned-out grape to create the shape of a flower. 

Fruity Tai & Salmon Chirashi ($12.80)

Finally, there is the Fruity Tai & Salmon Chirashi ($12.80). The pronounced freshness of the Japanese sea bream and salmon as well as glistening salmon roe contrast impeccably with the sweetness of the grape. 

Fruity Tai Chirashi Don ($16.80)

Want something more substantial? Head over to the Great World outlet to savor the Fruity Tai Chirashi Don ($16.80). An Instagram-worthy offering, this beautiful masterpiece sees salmon, Japanese sea bream, and scallops form the motif of a rose. The accompanying wasabi takes the shape of the stem. 

Other than the sushi and chirashi don, Kuriya Japanese Market will also be offering new sakura-themed sake, sweets, and snacks specially imported from Japan. The easy-to-drink L’Orient Sakura Sake ($33.80, 500ml) offers a subtle sweetness and is great for pairing with the fru-shi offerings. For snacks, surprises include the Cream Collon Sakura Matcha ($2.80). The bite-sized matcha wafer biscuits boast an earthiness that tempers the light sweetness of the pink-hued cream. Enjoy a refreshing pop of cherry blossoms anytime, anywhere, with the Asahi Mintia Sakura ($2.20) — each mint will freshen up your breath!

Continue the indulgence with the Sakura Red Bean Dorayaki ($5.80) — two fluffy pancakes sandwiches with a red bean paste. Enjoy the best of two worlds with the 2-in-1 Sakura & Ogura Bean Paste Monaka ($7.80). The monaka features thin sakura-shaped crispy wafers with sweet red bean filling. Other than the above-mentioned offerings, long-time favorites such as Sakura Yogurt Pudding ($3.80), Strawberry Waffle Cake ($4.90), and Strawberry Petit Puff ($5.80) will return as well.
