The King of Ceylon Tea, Dilmah Tea Launches Highest Anti-oxidant Ice Tea in Singapore

The Sri Lankan family tea company, Dilmah produces some of the finest Ceylon Tea in the world and is proud to announce the launch of Singapore’s highest anti-oxidant ice teas in six invigorating flavors. These ice teas boast high levels of polyphenols or anti-oxidants, measuring up to 120mg per 100ml of tea, but they are also best appreciated when enjoyed with food. The range of refreshing tea flavors also makes them an ideal everyday brew. A commitment to the sustainability and future of the Ceylon tea industry, Dilmah is actively involved in the entire process from tea growing to harvest and finally to the perfection of the ultimate brew for discerning palates.

Rich Anti-Oxidants in a Bottle – Glow Up with Dilmah!

Tea is particularly rich in polyphenols which promote youthful, glowing skin among a list of other health benefits. Polyphenols are anti-oxidants encompassing the chemical compounds catechins, theaflavins, and thearubigins that work to control the damaging effects of free radicals in the body. Harnessing the properties of polyphenol, Dilmah has developed a way to increase the polyphenol content to the highest ever seen for an unrivaled healthy and delicious brew.

In market research done with four (4) other leading bottled tea offerings in Singapore, Dilmah’s bottled teas were found to contain up to three (3) times more polyphenol compared to its competitors! Consumers can thus be ensured that they get only the best out of each bottle of Dilmah tea!

Standing far above the market average in anti-oxidants, Dilmah Tea recorded 85.03mg of polyphenol per 100ml for its black tea and 125.13mg of polyphenol per 100ml of its green tea, compared to other green tea brands in the market which range from 48.01mg/100ml to 102.36mg/100ml.

Extraordinary Brews, Ethical Sources

Available in six (6) artisanal flavors made with either a green or black tea base, each bottle carries forth founder Merrill J. Fernando’s dedication to tea that is not only good for the palate, people, and planet, but also harvested and brewed using ethical practices. Uncompromising quality and taste provide tea lovers with the ultimate tea drinking experience that promises pleasure with every sip. Naturally flavored with fresh, fruity, and floral extracts, there is something for every tea drinker, whether they prefer it light and fresh or bold and full-bodied.

Green tea is elevated with flavors such as Lady Lavender, a blend of green tea accented with floral notes of the freshest lavender bouquet for a drink that is light and calming for evening relaxation, Rose & French Vanilla, a sensual blend of extraordinary roses with hints of vanilla for an enchanting flavor perfect for commemorating special moments and also Arabian Jasmine, an aromatic and stress-relieving pour with the delicate fragrance of jasmine blossoms that is perfect for any occasion. All three are made with Dilmah’s Ceylon Green Tea, ethically grown, handpicked as tea buds, and crafted at Dilmah’s state-of-the-art green tea factory in the central highlands of Sri Lanka. Unfermented during its manufacturing process, the tea takes on milder characteristics once brewed.

Black tea comes in flavors such as Lemon & Lime, a timeless blend of citrusy twists that burst with life for a definite pick-me-up on the hottest of days, and White Peach recalls bright summery days with fruity peaches that linger with a lasting impression. Last but not least, there’s Royal English, a signature black tea that is smooth yet full-bodied with light veils of honey for an unforgettable classic taste. This selection is made with Dilmah’s Unblended Black Tea – packed directly at source within days of harvesting to guarantee freshness and the finest quality in every bottle of Dilmah Ice Tea.

A successful recipient of the Health Promotion Board’s Healthier Choice Symbol, the antioxidant-rich Dilmah Ice Tea is lower in sugar with the use of natural honey to enhance its taste, making it the perfect beverage to complement a meal or enjoyed on its own.

Dilmah also endeavors to reduce the consumption of single-use plastics in its packaging by bottling its ice teas in glass instead of plastic. Affordably priced at $2.50 for a 300ml bottle, it aims to bring a quality tea experience to every consumer.

Smart Tea Pairings

Truly an art form of its own, pairing the right flavored teas with your meals helps bring out the unique flavor profiles of both tea and food that you would be pleasantly surprised to discover! Relish the subtle flavor nuances that are expertly evoked, elevating the entire dining experience.

Sharing his inspirations, Chef Lap Fai, from Hua Ting, a Michelin Plate restaurant from 2019 to 2022, recommends a clever pairing of the following combinations for a tea-rific dining experience:

For light bites, enjoy Charcoal-grilled Spanish Iberico Pork “Char Siew”, and Deep-fried Beancurd Sheets with the floral Rose tea that refreshes the senses, or whip up a Crispy Sweet Corn Pancake with Smoked Duck to be accompanied by an English tea that enhances the smoky aroma yet remains light on the palate.

For mouth-watering main dish pairings, go for Sauteed Tiger Prawn with Asparagus and Black Olives with citrusy Lemon Lime tea for a refreshing bite, and/or Baked Pork Ribs with Lemongrass with Jasmine tea, which teases out new, robust flavors from the meat, while drawing out the sweet floral notes from the tea.

Round off a hearty feast with a Crispy Yam Pastry complemented by a fruity Peach tea, or for something light, enjoy juicy bites of Aloe Vera with Fresh Fruits in Lavender tea.

As a general guide, heavier flavors go with light floral teas like rose or jasmine; savory dishes are best paired with an aromatic English tea; while desserts that tend to lean on the sweet side work well with fruity-floral teas such as peach or lavender.

The Dilmah Single-Sourced Tea Story

Founder Merrill J. Fernando had long dedicated his life to tea, beginning in the 1950s when he witnessed the industry heading towards commoditization. In the interest of tea drinkers and the crop that his country carefully produced, he made it his lifelong purpose to pursue a more sustainable approach to the cultivation and production of tea. It took him nearly four decades before he perfected and launched his own brand, Dilmah, in 1988.

Dilmah is the first producer-owned tea brand that offers tea handpicked and packed at origin (where it's grown) to ensure great taste and natural goodness, making it one of the finest teas in the world. Also the world’s first ethically sourced tea, Dilmah believes strongly in giving back to the community and planet. This follows the Dilmah philosophy where business is a matter of human service.

CEO Dilhan C. Fernando says, “The promise our father gave consumers when offering the first genuinely ethical tea that was packed garden fresh at source, is what Dilmah continues to offer over three decades later. He has been steadfast in his commitment to keeping Dilmah a truly local product, which has not been easy. The pressure to adapt to changing circumstances and market conditions has been unrelenting: many tea brands today use Crush-Tear-Curl (CTC) tea and blend teas from other origins, which cost a fraction of Ceylon Tea, to offer tea that is more competitive in price but is less authentic, because they believed in the new reality. But Dilmah never compromises when it comes to quality.”

Dilmah Ice Tea is now available in selected 7-11 outlets, FairPrice stores, Caltex Star Marts, and via E-commerce platforms such as Redmart, LazMall, Shopee Mall, Qoo10, EZBuy, and Amazon.
