REVIEW: Good Soy Sauce Chicken in Singapore: Hiang Ji Roasted Meat Noodle House at Toa Payoh Singapore

A highlight of our visit was the opportunity to savor Hiang Ji's renowned roasted meats. Our choices for the day were the Soya Sauce Chicken and the Duck Meat, both served with a bed of perfectly cooked noodles. Additionally, we ordered a serving of dumpling soup. 

However, while the chicken exhibited a commendable tenderness, it didn't quite reach the level of aromatic delight we had anticipated. The flavors were pleasing, yet we yearned for a more pronounced infusion of the signature roasted aroma.


The duck meat, though undeniably flavorful, fell just short of achieving the pinnacle of tenderness we had hoped for. While the taste was delightful, the texture could have been improved to fully complement the rich flavors that roasted duck is known for.


The dumplings were generously filled with a tantalizing blend of chestnut bits, succulent prawns, and savory minced pork. The sizeable dumplings were a testament to the attention to detail in Hiang Ji's culinary craftsmanship. Each bite was a burst of flavors, and the accompanying soup provided a comforting warmth that perfectly balanced the meal.


The dark soya sauce provided a savory depth that elevated the overall taste profile.
