REVIEW: Good Soya Sauce Chicken Noodles stall in Singapore: Sheng Ji Soya Sauce Chicken Rice/Noodle 生記油雞飯 • 油雞麵 at Geylang Bahru Singapore

Well, I recently decided to try Sheng Ji Soya Sauce Chicken Rice/Noodle 生記油雞飯 • 油雞麵, nestled within the bustling Geylang Bahru Food Centre.

Address: Geylang Bahru Market and Food Centre, 69 Geylang Bahru, #01-13, Singapore 330069

Opening Hours: 9 am - 9 pm, Closed on Monday and Sunday

The dish I ordered consisted of a bed of yellow noodles, which were then topped with chicken breast slices and boiled vegetables.

But what caught my attention right away was the generous sprinkling of pork lard over the noodles. It was a stroke of culinary genius that added an extra layer of richness and flavor to the dish.

The pièce de résistance, however, was the savory black sauce that lavishly adorned the chicken. It was a symphony of flavors, combining sweet, salty, and umami notes. What made it even more intriguing was the revelation that they incorporated the same sauce used to braise chicken feet. This unique twist added a depth of flavor that elevated the entire dish.

Speaking of noodles, they were a testament to culinary perfection. Cooked to an ideal springiness

Now, onto the chicken. While it was undoubtedly flavorful thanks to the aromatic sauce, I did notice that the meat wasn't as tender as I had expected.

To complement my meal, I couldn't resist indulging in a side of dumpling soup. It turned out to be an excellent decision. The dumplings were generously filled and had a delightful crunch to them.
