REVIEW: Good hawker, cafe and japanese food in Singapore: For Instagrammable Blue cafe, Lobster Pao Fan, Truffle Ramen - MAXI COFFEE BAR, Famous Pao Fan 一泡而红, and Kanadaya Ramen

The blue-tiled tables at MAXI COFFEE BAR look so instagrammable that I had to make a trip down. I ordered the Iced cereal milk latte which had a sweet and cereal flavor that was yummy! I also had the Meat me which had Mortadella, grilled cheese, fried egg on sourdough. The Mortadella here is the sausage slices. It is cooked cured sausage that's made from finely ground pork meat. I love the sourdough that they have used. It remained crispy and soft throughout. Super yum!!

Expect food like toasts, pastries, and sourdough here. I would come here for breakfast or an afternoon coffee break.

We checked out the latest food stall by Local actor Chew Chor Meng. The lobster pao fan looks so tempting!!!
Famous Pao Fan 一泡而红 specializes in Pao fan. We paid $16 each for one bowl of pao fan which came with 1 whole lobster, clam, fried egg floss, and crispy rice puff. Quite worth $16 I feel. The broth however was a little light on the palate and lacking that umami punch. The lobster meat could be more tender as well.

Other than this, they have the Fresh Prawns with Clams and Sliced Fish Pao Fan which was similar to what we had at San Pin Pao Fan, and Kurobuta Pork with Clams Pao Fan was interesting.

Congrats to Kanadaya Ramen for the new opening of the 4th outlet at Paragon Singapore. I was there recently for a hosted meal. They are not only voted the Best Ramen in Fukuoka but also the No.1 Ramen Restaurant in London by The Telegraph London.

The weather these days makes me craving for a bowl of ramen. We have tried the following:
🍜 Truffle Ramen
🍜 Chashu Tonkotsu Ramen
🍜 Black Garlic Ramen
🍜 Spicy Yuzu Ramen

My fav here will have to be the Truffle Ramen for its pronounced earthy taste. The soup has been elevated with black truffle oil and there's even a dollop of truffle paste on top.

The Chashu Tonkotsu Ramen was good too with a rich tonkotsu broth. In fact, all 4 ramen have a tonkotsu broth base and they're quite tasty! These have definitely filled the Japan void in my life!!! I'm always in Japan during the year-end.
