RECIPE: HONG KONG STYLE BEEF SATAY NOODLE SOUP 港式沙爹牛肉麵

I have personally not tried Satay Beef Noodle soup 港式沙爹牛肉麵  in Hong Kong before, but recently I have been inspired to make some Hong Kong comfort food. You can check out my recipe on Hong Kong Style Instant Noodles 港式公仔面

Instant noodles are easy to make and nothing special. This instant noodle however is one of the best I have made thanks to the beef and satay sauce. Thanks to Yakiniku Plaza for sending Snow Black Tender Shabu Shabu! This has incredibly marbling and taste so tender when cooked! I fry them in this nutty, flavorful, and slightly sweet satay sauce and scooped it on top of the noodles and soup. I had this HONG KONG STYLE BEEF SATAY NOODLE SOUP for lunch even though this is a Hong Kong breakfast meal.

Ingredients:

1 pack of instant noodles

1 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp oyster sauce

½ tbsp sesame oil

Sliced beef

1 tsp cooking oil

Beef Satay Sauce

Beef marinade:

¼ tsp Baking soda

4 tsp Soy sauce

1 ½ tsp Cornstarch

2 tsp Water

½ tbsp garlic minced

Method:

1) Slice your beef thinly and against the grain. Place the beef in a mixing bowl.

2) Combine the ingredients for the meat marinade in the same mixing bowl. Toss with tongs or your hands to combine.

3) Next, add frying oil and the marinated meat to a nonstick skillet placed over medium-high heat. Fry for about 5 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the meat is 50-60% done.

4) When the beef is 75% done, add the satay sauce and combine well. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the beef is no longer pink in the center. Place the beef on a platter and put it aside.

5) Prepare instant noodles according to package directions. Place in a bowl and set aside. Set aside the seasonings.

6) Bring a big saucepan of water to a boil, half-filled, over high heat. Add the seasoning packet and the oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil.

7) Ladle the soup over the noodles.

8) Top the noodles with the satay beef.
